Exciting news, everyone: Boulder is now featured as one of our Top Destinations!
In honor of this spectacular city and all that it has to offer, we are sharing our tips for the perfect day in… Boulder.
Located just 25 miles northwest of Denver, the city of Boulder lies where the Rocky Mountains meet the Great Plains. Boulder is known for its vibrant Western history, attracting hippies during the late 1960s and being home to the state’s largest university: the University of Colorado. Boulder is rich in outdoor activities, cultural events, shopping, microbreweries and world-class dining, making it the ideal Colorado destination! Our perfect day in Boulder begins with breakfast at Spruce Farm & Fish, inside the historic Hotel Boulderado. Spruce starts serving brunch made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients at 6:30am daily. Don’t miss the Boulderado’s breathtaking entryway, lobby and balcony and be sure to fuel up, because our next stop calls for some stamina! (Photo courtesy of Spruce Farm & Fish).
With over 300 miles of hiking and biking trails and 300 days of sunshine per year, it is clear why Boulder is one of the hottest spots in the country for outdoor recreation. No matter your interests or experience-level, you are sure to find the perfect trail nearby. One of our favorites is Boulder Creek Path, which runs right through the middle of town along Boulder Creek and up into beautiful Boulder Canyon for a scenic finish. After a heart-pumping morning in the great outdoors, head downtown to the elegant Spa at St. Julien Hotel. First, unwind in the guest lounge featuring an indoor lap pool, hot tub, fitness center with mountain views and private relaxation patio. Then, enjoy the spa service of your choice, offering hand crafted treatments – many made from the hotel’s fresh herb garden! (Photo courtesy of B Public Relations).
Next, walk just a few blocks to Boulder’s award-winning Pearl Street Mall. This brick-paved pedestrian district in the heart of Downtown Historic Boulder is home to a wide array of restaurants, boutiques, bookstores, street performers and more. There is never a dull moment on Pearl Street! (Photo courtesy of Denise Chambers/The Boulder Convention and Visitors Bureau).
While you’re there, end the day at Food Lab, where you will participate in a 3 hour hands-on cooking class. Professional chefs guide you in the kitchen to make a delicious themed meal for the first 2.5 hours. Afterward, you will enjoy generous tasting portions of the food you have made and wash it all down with a cold brew or paired glass of wine for purchase.
